Dr. Katharine Nowland

Dr. Katharine Nowland is an associate veterinarian with Total Bond Veterinary Hospital at Bethel. She graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and Chemistry minor. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Virgnia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. After graduation, Dr. Nowland spent time practicing general practice in Savannah, GA for 8 years. She has a special interest in surgery, emergency medicine, wound management, and endocrine disease management. She made the decision a few years ago to relocate to the Charlotte area to be closer to family.

For the past two years, Dr. Nowland has been primarily practicing emergency medicine. She has been able to work with specialists and other ER doctors and expanded both her knowledge and expertise. Although she thoroughly enjoyed the fast-paced environment of emergency medicine, she has decided to transition back to general practice because she misses forming the long-term bonds with her patients and clients.

She lives in the Lake Wylie/York area with her daughter and her dog Henry, and cat Mittens. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, baking, and gardening.
